It's Over!!!

Got back from the Bar Exam last night.  Thank God that's over.

"So Jordan, how'd you do?"

I'm going to get really sick of that question.  You already know I failed twice before, and you asked me the same question both times, and both times I told you I thought I passed.  So do you think I have any reasonable way of guaging how I did?  Besides, you don't want a real answer.  You want to hear me say I did great, so you can feel good about me.  I appreciate that, but if I just walk around saying "I did great!" and then fail again, I look like even more of an idiot than I otherwise would.

The truth is I do think I did well.  They say the bar exam is an endurance test, and it's true.  It's a three month studying endurance test.  Well, two months if you're retaking it and don't start studying right away.  I managed my eight weeks well, I covered every single subject, had fantastic flash cards, and got an excellent study book to help me out.  They included tips like the "2000 point question," which did come up on the test.  I procrastinated less than in the past, I took fewer study breaks, and I took shorter study breaks.  There is a human limit to how much I can study and I got pretty close to that limit.  On the test itself I didn't forget anything, I never panicked, I managed my time well on six essays, two performance tests, and 200 multiple choice questions, and I managed my energy well too--I never got hungry or tired during the exam.  I did everything right, strategically and tactically.  In talking about the test afterwards with my friends, there were no major issues that someone else got that I missed.  So, I am optimistic.  I only need to do 6% better than last time and frankly I think I did a lot better than that.

Of course, that's what I said last time and my score went down.  If I was good at guaging these things, I wouldn't have failed twice.

And please don't ask me if I've passed.  I don't find out until the end of November.  No joke.

Anyway I'm just relieved to be done.  I worked hard and now I'm taking a well-earned reward: my buddy's bachelor party in Tahoe.  Rock on.
