Everything is going great so far. We had our first stop in Cabo San Lucas, mostly famous as a place college students go to on spring break. This is my first trip to Mexico (since I was old enough to remember). Although Yelena's been to Mexico multiple times, she's never been to Cabo. Both of us were rather disgusted by the town; it's very clean and all the buildings are brand new and freshly painted and there are cops everywhere, but you still don't feel safe.

As promised, here are the photos from KF. Credit to Camp Mom Judy for actually taking the shots. It's nice to be in some, for a change.

Got back late last night from the first reenacting event of the season at Knight's Ferry. Our "camp mom" Judy took some shots with my camera which I'll post "at some point."
Being the senior non-commissioned officer in a unit is a totally different experience from being a private. Frankly, I don't think I could have handled the job before becoming a father. Fatherhood has taught me that something can be a chore and fun at the same time, and that's what most of the weekend was for me. I got very little time to relax until after the sun set; I spent all day doing paperwork, delegating duties, talking with command, reminding people to drink water, and dealing with their health problems when they failed to drink water.

My buddy Phil has entered a photo in a contest. You should vote for him.

A couple galleries of Civil War events. I'm only 18 months behind schedule now.

A few months ago I put up the gallery for Phil & Lydia's wedding. I forgot to add a few more panorama shots. Here they are now.

I can't tell you how excited I am to wear blue wool again.

I forgot to add that the ads also bring enhanced functionality. That's what Yahoo said when they crammed ads into my email, and in their case the argument was that the increased revenue would allow them to spend more money on developing cool features. And yet, somehow, Gmail is still functionally better than Yahoo mail, and with far less obtrusive ads.

That's right, I've turned on the Google Ads. I have some trepidations about this and I've been putting it off for years. Here's why I finally did it.
First, I'm unemployed and this site gets 300-600 hits a month. I could use the money (but these days, who couldn't?).
